Will the TOY03-AUX work in a 2005 Matrix XR?

I've been looking into adding an aux input on a 2005 Matrix XR and think I have the following down regarding the PIE brand solutions:

1.) The TOY03-AUX should work in a 2005 Matrix XR *without* navigation and a factory stereo and *without* an external CD changer

2.) The X3 and X3-TOY03 would be needed for a 2005 Matrix XR *with* a factory external CD changer

What I'm not sure about is will a TOY03-AUX work with this car if it has a factory radio with the CD changer in the dash? By "work" I mean will the CD controls still work and the aux input only kick in when an aux device is connected and playing?
