Question Audio upgrades:deck or speakers first? what speakers and deck?

so as you may have seen in my other thread i'm looking to upgrade the audio setup in my matrix, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade the speakers first or the deck?

i'm also looking for suggestions on the deck and speakers, for the deck I would like something with bluetooth, and ipod connections around the $300- $400 price range
As for speakers I know there's lots I can do but I'm looking at around $600 max.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I'd say a deck first - but I don't mind the stock 6-speaker setup in the Matrix.

The JVC KW-XG700 looks great in the Matrix and matches the dash colors almost exactly. It has USB and Aux in, and you can tack on the JVC Bluetooth kit if you need it.

I just purchased the JVC KW-XR810 for my 04 Matrix. It is a double-din stereo with bluetooth (microphone included) and IPOD control along with a single disc. The lights are color variable so you can match them to the interior lights of the car. You have to buy the Toyota patch cable to hook it up. I just got it yesterday so plan on installing tomorrow morning (hopefully).
In Canada it is on sale for $250 plus $20 for the cable at Futureshop.
I previously upgraded my front speakers to 3-ways so hoping it will sound nice. I have another thread asking if anyone has removed their a pillar interior piece as I want to run the microphone up to the top of that. If you have any experience with that please take a look at my thread. I will reply again after I install it to let you know how it works if you like.
