trying to decide on a matrix - need your help

I'm in the process of purchasing a used matrix.

I'm trying to decide between two different ones, and would like some guidance.

One is a 2005 black TRD, and one is a 2005 blue base model (w/alloys)
both have similar options on them.

My questions are this:
  • Is the ground clearance on the TRD lower than that of the base due to the skirting?
  • Has anyone ever had damage to the skirting from driving through snow/ice (I live in Canada, so winter driving is mandatory)
  • Can anyone with a black one shed some light on how easily it shows scratches/dings? I'm a little worried that it will become marked up really easily.
As it stands now, the black TRD is in slightly better shape, but slightly more expensive. I'm just a little worried about the skirting and the paint showing every little dent/scratch that may come up.

Thanks all.

base model has no lip kit and has a really good ground clearance. The XR or any model with the body kit has a lower ground clearance and sometimes you may scrape it.

I never heard any of the other members in canada say their skirts getting messed up.

The color black is one of the hardess colors to maintain, but than again any dark color is. Just make sure to keep up with maintenance.
