Front Brakes

Hey Guys what type of brake pads and disks you can advice me to buy for my FWD Matrix05 , I had a bad experience with Canadian Tire, it seems that they are selling only faulty and crappy things, and mechanics as well charging tones of money for same sh...t, I decided to replace it by my self. I have only one problem where to buy in GTA and which brand. I will be appreciate for your advice.
Thank you

Go to NAPA, get the Application Engineered Ceramic or Adaptive One brake pads (Not the Tru-Stop Pads). They carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects, make very little dust and no noise. They also come with new mounting/anti rattle clips. I wouldn't put Crappy Tire brakes on my wheelbarrow.

As for Rotors, you get what you pay for in that department.

What are you guys talking about mistamatrix clearly gave you a good answer.

I would recommend OEM pads myself.

I can only tell you what i've experienced. I purchased some Wagner rotors and Monroe brake pads from Canadian Tire and I've had huge problems. There almost no run-out in the rotor yet after 5000 km there was horrible shaking and the squealing was frustrating. After 13000km i changed up the rotors to a premium rotor from Napa and Akebono ceramic pads. No more shaking and squeal.

Interesting bit of info. I've been looking into getting Raybestos rotors as i've been told they are very good. The part number I was looking for was 96934. This premium rotor from Napa was part number 86934! I asked the guy at Napa and he says that the company that make the rotor i bought is the same company that owns Raybestos as well!. Both the rotor from Napa with part number 86934 and the Raybestos rotor with part number 96934 have a black coating in the veins and rotor "cap" to inhibit rusting. I believe that the rotors i purchased are the same as the Raybestos premium rotors.

I recommend Napa's premium rotor and Akebono's ceramic pads. I'm not saying that OEM isn't a good choice. I'm just saying i've had good results with my setup.

When I replaced mine I got Bendix. The braking is not that good, not sure if its due to the pads, but next time I'll try Hawk or Akebono.
