Canada New to TN

Hi, All
My name is Archie. It is nice to know, that sites like ToyotaNation
exist. And there are knowledgeable guys in here.
I am new to Toyota and OBD2 cars, have Matrix 2006 from new
(manual, base model, bought it, when my truck got hit by
Rider Rental). It was reliable and fuel efficient ride till the standard
warranty expired(around 99000 km now). The only complain I had -
rotors would wear fast.
At about 92000km Had DTC P0138 and P2195. I bought a reader,
searched online and then gone to the dealer. They replaced puter
and assured I woud have no more code. Went on highway and ...
here we go same codes again. Unfortunately I haven't been around
my home area and didn't go to the other dealer. While on the road
Bought NGK O2S , the one after the cat. Had to go out for a 250 km
drive same dtc came back on, reset afew times, and now I have code
P0031 only. Reset afew times to make sure others won't come back.It
stays at P0031, which it low amp in AF ratio sensor heater reading, I
gathered. BTW compared multimeter readings old O2S and new and
there was 2-3 ohms difference,so maybe old one was still good-replaced
anyway.
I do experience sometimes extended cranking before puter replacement
and after in subzero temps, afew weeks ago I replaced tensioner pulley,
using Mobil1 synth oil . Complained to toyota about extended crank time
didn't get anywhere,so stopped going to them , except for puter change.
Forgot to say about surging at startups, didn't happen though after O2s
change.
I am kinda puzzled now -to change AF sensor or something else can be
done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Archie

Welcome to TN Archie.

Check out the Matrix forum, hopefully you will find some answers to your questions. I have an 06 Matrix in the family as well but it's leased and being traded in in May. Haven't had any issues at all.
