Radio install - interior help

Hi everyone
I am new to the forum. My wife has an 04 Matrix XR 4WD. I am changing the radio to JVC XR-810 so she can have bluetooth and IPOD control. I want to run the microphone to the top of the A-pillar interior trim piece. Has anyone removed that and can they suggest anything before I start to tug and pull on it. It has been awhile (teen years) since I changed out a stereo. Any suggestions or hints for this change would be gratefully accepted.

Hey, I imagine you solved this issue. But I put in a nice Kenwood Nav/BT deck. I put the mic right on the steering wheel. Well, that little rest behind it. It picks up great, and was really easy to hide the wires from the head unit there.
