Parrot MKi9200 installation question

I received a Parrot MKi 9200 as gift an I'm planning to install on my 2004 Matrix. I found that there is a quick connect Plug and Play harness model QCGM-2MK which I have. It seems that I just needed to disconnect and reconnect current cable into this harness and everything should work fine.
Here is the question. There is a red wire on this harness with label saying 12v to ignition. Does any one know what that is means or where I have to connect this wire? Please let me know if someone have done this installation or post a installation steps here.
Thanks in advance.

12V to ignition means that the lead is only energized when you turn the car ON - i.e., it is asking you to hook it to a switched 12V source.

There are a couple of switched 12V sources you could tap off of - though be best to tap it off of something that is not 100% critical - good example would be the 12V cigarette outlet. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure that both the Corolla and Matrix do not have power running through the cigarette outlet unless the ignition is switched ON. There are two power points on both my car - one is live all the time, one is switched.

Another possibility is tapping off the fuse block itself - radio fuse could be piggybacked, as that comes one when the ignition is ON - though you could introduce some electrical noise if the Parrot unit is not electrically "clean".

Easier way is to wire it off a live 12V source that you manually switch - lots of 12V power sources available to tap off of - just wire to a separate switch. You can get premade switches that plug into the cigarette lighter plug, just wire the 12V wire to the plug and you are good to go.

just a quick update. I spoke with one of the online installers and they explained to me the same that this wire has to be connected to a 12 V wire that is powering on and off when car is start/stops from the ignition key. I was able to successfully install MKi 9200 Parrot system connected to cigarette lighter switch by my self. I checked the manual for the wiring digram and found out that grey color wire is 12V and I can use for this purpose. One of the wire connected to the cigarette switch was grey color so I just connect the red wire and everything start working fine.
Thanks fishexpo101 for this detailed explanation.
