2006 toyota matrix with p0751 shift solenoid "a" my matrix shift hard only went is cold then work perfect i just want to know is if the solenoid o my ecm i dont want to spence all that money "help please"

To troubleshoot this, follow the procedure in the manual

To properly troubleshoot this a Toyota intelligent tester is required. The

generic OBD2 scanner will not show transmission error codes.

Edit: This was first posted in the Corolla section and the links were for a Corolla transmission. Links have been updated for a Matrix transmission.

I doubt it would be the ECM if it only happens when it's cold. The ECM is in the passenger cabin and would not be effected by engine or transmission temperature.
