Looking for a core, non working or low cost functional supercharger to see if it can be adapted to fit my Matrix. Turbo in the works but want to see if the supercharger is do-able.

Thanks
Call if interested, (619)988-5957

Anything that works on Celica would work on Matrix...their drivetrain are exactly the same...

I would go for some tried and tested Celica boost tricks rather than trial and error with a 11.5:1 compression ratio.

Anyways, my 2 cents, good luck tho, and send some pics!

Good to hear that my link helped.

I know that Sport Compact Car had an article a few months back on their project Matrix. It involved a very custom turbo kit. Check that out too.

I bought all three volumes of the factory service manual and with 10% off as there is only a 20% markup in them according to my parts buddy, they were only "cough, cough" $328!!!!
Well, I cannot find the compresion ratio there nor anywhere else I have looked, anyone know what the Celica GT ratio is, same engine in my car, the 1ZZ-FE, at least that is what I understand it to be, the same as the Celica.
I bought the XR model as the XRS is impossible to find so far and I did not like the idea of trying to boost an 11.5 engine, I knew what it was, a very peaky, not good for the real world driving motor. I wanted to be able to set mine up for alot more bottom and midrange power, what I have done to every car I ever built up.

The 1ZZ-FE runs on a high 10:1 CR and the 2ZZ-FE is on 11.5:1. The XS Engineering Turbo Celica runs at about 12 or 13:1 c/r the last time I heard. Go to http://www.teamunison.com and they should be able to answer your 1ZZ-FE questions. They have detailed info about the motors in their Tech section. Ask for my buddies Paul or Issac or anyone else in the Unison boards if you have specifcs. They should be happy to help you out.

A good friend of mine who used to be Senior Administrator Dealer Facilities for Toyota Motor Sales, USA in Torrance, who now works at Toyota of Cerritos has a Turbo 1ZZ-FE Corolla LE done by Toysport. Several places are trying to make a 1ZZ-FE turbo kit i.e. West Covina Toyota and other places, but most everyone is running into fuel enrichment problems. The Corolla Matrix shares several parts from the Corolla and Celica.
