Here is my car, up by Miur Woods, a redwood grove just north of San Fransico last weekend on a road trip with my kids.

Lighter wheels(these are 26lbs) and tires would be better for accelleration and braking but these do stick very well in the turns. I am seriously thinking of some 17"s for everyday use and keeping these just for shows but will be going to alot of them, would be a pain to swap all the time.
Motor Trend just did a review with a XTR, the WRX waqon and the Protege5, guess which was faster through the slalom and had the shortest braking? The Matrix!
Mine has the same front brakes but drums in the rear, still stops well even with big wheels. It also has the same suspension as the XTR. I am ordering the rear disk parts and will use them and other parts to upgrade the brakes all around.
Since I have the XT as I planned to turbo it I am now looking for at least a core Previa SC supercharger as may go that route instead. Then I would make my XT into a XTSC. Or if I do go turbo, it would be XTT. Coil overs are in the works as well.

Looks like your started this project on the right foot - err... I mean tire

I agree with DaksGT about dumping that thing. Seeing as how it is a work in progress, I guess we'll just have to wait in anticipation. I know you won't disapoint

RAAMaudio, cars looks great. I would consider lowering it more though, the gap between the tire and the body is a killer.. Like DaksGT said, 2" would probably do it for the car...
Car looks great though.. The rims look like they were made for the car.. Good job

Can you take some more pics, closer up to the car. What size tires are you running?

They look great! I thought 19's would look too large, but they fit just fine with the rest of the car.

The tires are 235/35/19 555 Nitto's. Fairly noisy, I may try changing the toe in to see if it helps as they sound like they are scrubing from two much of it but do not show any wear patterns as would be expected in that case.
I have always prefered and mostly used mesh style wheels(like most BBS or the Hock R from TSW). These fit the personallity of the car much better. When I get the struts in and lower it I expect it to really look good then. Big brakes are a must now though, even the 10.8's look tiny.
Thanks for the compliments!

Cool!

I bought a TRD exhaust today, just arrived at my dealer, list is like $900!!!, Got it for alot less, they like me I guess. Well, it must be for an XTR as the flange does not fit my XT. Taking it back tomorrow, I can get a custome one made for like $250 anyway, just happened to have the money in my pocket, sure looks good on the car though!!!! Very well made too!
