night light for dash

I just bought a 2007 Matrix XR. There is one thing annoying me very much. I can not see the radio buttons and those air/heater switches at dark night. My previous old camry has a back light behind the daskboard, so I can see all the buttons after the engine start at night.
Is my light not working or there is no this function at all?

Thanks!

Sounds like a burnt out bulb.
Remove the plastic fasia and change the bulb.

Dimmer control turned all the way up?

Depending on the headunit, it may not be illuminated. The HVAC controls should be illuminated though, as mentioned above, likely a burned out bulb. I would suggest swapping out the other bulbs that you run across in there as well - that way you are only pulling the center trim off once instead of every time a bulb burned out. Same with the cluster gauges.

Yes, the dimmer control turned all the up. I don't know how to take off the front panel. If there is a bad bulb inside, I will leave it there.
My 10 years old camry is still perfect, nothing goes wrong. I can see the quality is so different.
