In need of some help, what model of matrix

Girlfriend has a 06 matrix, it says TRD on the shifter, hatchback, the exhaust tip. Has 17" wheels from factory, 5spd. Needing to know what model it is. As going to putting a hitch on it to tow a 4x6 trailer. To haul her scooter, junk, etc. Went to hidden hitch website, they list "all models", w/o ground effects, w/ground effects. I seen some pics of Matrix that say XRS on the hatch, which she doesnt have. Went buddy parts guy, he said her car doesnt isnt the xrs as its different engine. About I can see below the bumper is the shinning exhaust tip, doesnt appear to be much below that. But ground effects mean so many different things to so many different people. I know my 03 Corolla has abit of ground effects. Thanks for any help, the hitch site doesnt show pics of cars either.

TRD stuff is the Toyota aftermarket, basically accessories, so they should not affect the tow hitch location, especially muffler wise (assuming they used the stock hanger locations).

If the rear bumper looks like this, you have the factory ground effects.





If the rear bumper looks like this, you do NOT have the factory ground effects.





NOTE: The only difference is that portion of the rear bumper that hangs down between the main bumper cover with clips.

Now, if the bumper looks different than the above, then you likely have an aftermarket bumper and/or rear bumper lip - that case, you'll have to do some modifications to get the hitch to fit.

Plus, I went though this very process not too long ago for my 2003 Matrix XRS - also picked up a Hidden Hitch brand hitch. Too bad, I already tossed the hitch, as the car was totaled in an accident last year.

Thanks, car looks like the 2nd pic. No factory ground effects, know to pick the right hitch, as hidden hitch lists 3 different. All models, w ground effects, w/o ground effects. So w ground effects is out, but why is there 2 other choices? I sent an e@mail to hiddenhtich. I did some looking, TRD Matirx were only avaiable to Canada, not sure why. Got a fancy shifter knob, exhaust tip, decal on hatch lid. But you can buy all this stuff from parts. But this car was factory order with it all. Plus get 17" rims that cost more to put tires on.
