Gen1 Clutch change on 05 XRS

I have 05 XRS and my clutch is due. I was thinking putting something more heavy duty, racing clutch. I found e few different kinds for 1300 lb, 1900 lb pressure plate, for more hp. My car is not modified so all I am looking for is more durability ond long life of the clutch. Has any of you upgraded their clutch? I'd like to hear opinions of people who actually did it and tell me if there is any difference in the feel of the clutch. Also, when you buy a clutch kit is everything included in it? Is it a direct swap or you need additional parts? Cause I'm thinking doing it with my friend in his garage. Thanks

I would not recommend heavy duty clutch, if you drive it daily.

Just put the ACT stage 1 clutch and it is strong enough to handle a lot of abuse, but is very easy to use in every day driving. Also, while you have the tranny out, I would recommend putting the Fidanza 7 lbs flywheel and it will make your car a lot more fun to drive. It will rev up and down lightning fast and the throttle response will go up drastically.

Thanks silver04rollas, I found some clutch kits with included flywheel in them for around $300 on ebay. Both have the same FW F1 Racing Lightweight Chromoly Flywheel -10.6 lbs. The clutches are Exedy standard OE replacement clutch kit or F1 Racing Clutch kit. I am thinking about the second one. I found a lot a places selling Exedy but F1 Racing...have you heard about it before?

I have heard of Exxedy Stage 1 and Stage 2 (Stage 3 as well), but not too sure about F1. Looks like it might be a heavy duty clutch as well. If you feel this is the right deal for you then go for it.

I personally feel the best combo is Fidanza 7 lbs flywheel + ACT stage 1 for the ultra-responsive feel while still retaining the stock clutch grab for daily city driving. If you dend up going with the chromoly flywheel and Exxedy clutch, please do review them in detail.
