Bridgestone Potenza's, $400, thoughts?

My vibe needs some new sneakers. I have 140k on it now and it will soon be relegated to being the 3rd car(about 7k a year).......................I can purchase 4 Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid's 205/55/16 for $400 from Costcos. That includes everything, tire, mounting, balance, insurance, tax ....I will right out a check for $392. Has anyone used these tires......I am looking to spend as little as possible for an OK tire?.....thoughts

Bridgestone makes very good tires. I have run that particular series of tire, but am running a step up from the Grids - the RE960AS tires. They are probably the best set that I've put on any car so far.

I wouldn't count on the Grids for any serious winter weather traction - maybe just very light snow, even with your AWD. But for the other three seasons, don't think you'll find a better tire, especially in your area, for the price. Specs of the tire is decent as well - UTQG rating of 460AA

Also check into Bridgestone's website - I think they are running a promo on their tires - depending on the series, up to $100 off a set of 4. Think it runs to the end of April, as I'm looking for a set of tire for my current 2nd gen Matrix as well - 25K miles of mostly highway miles and the fronts are at the wear bars.

If you really want to go Bridgestone, I would highly recommend the Potenza 760. They are great tires and also available for good price at Costco. They are summer tires with great ratings. They were my second choice behind the Continental ExtremeContact DW.
