What speakers?

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and was wondering if you would share some of your knowledge.

I am looking to replace the stock speakers in my 2006 XR (4 speaker setup), but am not entirely sure what to get. A lot of the 6.5" coaxial speakers on sonicelectronix say that they do not fit, but I am not sure why... At this point it time it seems my best bet is to get 2 sets of Polk db651.

I will be running the speakers through a 4 Channel amp (havent purchased yet). I am looking at a kenwood 4 channel with 60x4 rms (4ohm).

If anyone has any suggestions to other speakers or amps that work well in this car I would appreciate it. I have also heard that the front doors have issues with deep speakers that will obstruct the window.

the speakers are great 4 the money but may be u should get 75W amp. what head unit r u using?

Most 6 1/2" speakers will fit, they will need spacers to clear the window front and back. Stock is 5 1/4 rear tho. As for speaker choice I'm biased..Alpine!! The new '11 line up is looking great. look at the SPR-60 x2 or add the SPR-50, run these(@ 2 ohm stereo) off a MRX-F30 on CH 1&2, run a sub at 4ohm off 3&4..(you loose fader tho) And Eric is right..dont, severely under
power them..more is generally better.
