Hood Rust

Hello, first time posting here.

Im a 2006 Matrix owner. The hood is starting to rust right in the middle, in different spots and definitely underneath starting from underneath the paint with no stonechips anywhere near. 2 Days ago there was heavy rain and i think it hit one of the cracked paint and i see rust exposed.

My question is, I have symtech rust protection and it should still be under warranty. Is hoods included? any reason they might deny my claim?

Depends on what package you have from them. Does it only cover rust perforation (have to wait until the panel is eaten all the way through) or will they handle surface rust? Should all be outlined in the paperwork you received when you signed up for the protection.

Some plans have a stipulation that you have to have the car inspected every XXX km or months to "keep" the warranty valid. Same goes for paint protection and overall care of the vehicle.

Probably the best way to handle it is to bring it and have them look at it.
