Hello,
I bought Matrix 3003, 5 speeds, in 1999 with 158,000 miles (now 176,000 miles) for $1000.00. After tune-up, (change spark plugs, cabin and air filters, engine and transmission oils, intake manifold gasket) the car run well without any major problem and it give a good gas mileage (35 in summer, 31 in winter, in the city).
Good luck.

Hello,
That car belong to company and sale person drove it around 2000-3000 miles/month and then pass it to service people to use. I have oil change history from Jeffy lube. They change oil every 3-4 month (from 6,000 to 14,000 miles). I was lucky because the car look good, run and drive well even the car has high mileage.

^^^ Great choice!! Just keep up on the maintenance, car will keep going. A couple of 2003 Matrix XRS with over 300K miles on here and on other boards and still running strong.

Congrats on the XRS. Those 180 horses will keep you happy and the engine will sing. Now let it rip to that 8400 rpm. The magic begins over 6000 rpm.
