Side curtain airbags in 2005 models??

I am looking at purchasing my Mother-in-law's 2005 Matrix for my high schooler. What is the story with side curtain airbags in this model? Were they standard? We're they an option? We're they not available? I am interested in knowing this for front and rear. Thanks for any help.

The side/torso airbags were an option in generation of Matrix as well as the curtain bags (first year they were introduced). The side/torso and curtain airbags were only setup for the front seat occupants only. Wasn't until the 2nd generation (2009+) that had the full length curtain airbags.

Front driver and passenger airbags were standard. Depending on model/trim - anti-skid control and ABS were either an option (base and XR) or standard (XRS and AWD only).

You can tell if the car had the optional airbags installed by looking for the SRS label on the side of the front seats (torso airbag) and one the interior roof by the front seat occupants or by the B-pillar trim (curtain airbag).
