2005 Matrix Delivery Lead Times?

Does anyone know what the approximate delivery time is for a 2005 Matrix to the Sacramento, CA area? I ordered a 2005 XR AWD in April, and the salesman told me it was scheduled to be built May 10, and would be delivered 2-3 weeks later. Know he is telling me the car was built, they don't know when it shipped, or even if it has, but they think it is stuck in customs. I think I'm getting a line of bs, and I'm almost ready to walk out on the deal.

2-3 weeks sounds about right. I'm assuming that's an ETA if there's no hitches. The Matrix is built in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada so you should expect to wait a bit.

Yes, it is a 2005 AWD. Cosmic Blue, Value Package #1, 6-disc cd changer. We live in the heart of the Sierra Nevada, so we need the AWD and did not want the moonroof. What I don't understand is what seems to be a long delay in shipping/delivery, since the car was supposed to have been made May 10. Does customs really cause this much of a delay, or might something else be going on? I have already negotiated a price of $17,700, and the salesman keeps reminding me that this is below invoice. Is this delay a possible tactic to get me to up my price?

Customs? the car is made in the US....Kentucky i believe.

I think he is trying to scam u....we have Access Toyota in most of Canada (not Ontario till later this year) and what that means is basicly all the prices are fixed and you know exactly what you are paying for and how much it will cost.

Jeff
the corrolla and matrix and lexus rx330 are made in cambridge ontario, canada.
the corrolla is also made at nummi in california to supplement cambridge's numbers , the vibe is also built there.
tmmk in kentucky is the camry/ solara plant i believe, (i've never been there so correct me if i'm wrong)

as for delivery time 3-4 weeks sounds about right and customs is never an issue your dealer just doesn't have access to any info from the plant except for expected build date, some delays may include plant breakdowns or part shortages etc..

wait for it man you're gonna love the car, honest.
