I got a hold of an extra set of taillights so I decided to try the infamous Testors candy apple red transparent paint method of redding out the taillights. If you do a Google search on "Testors candy apple red transparent paint", you'll come up w/ results from different types of cars but the finished product is all the same.
In the process...
My digicam's battery ran out so I was only able to take one lousy pic. I'll get more when it's all juiced up again.
you know what i found out it better to let them cure for 24hrs then wet sand then use polish to get them looking real good i'm just to lazy to do it
they look great
Yeah. The hatch is mobile billboard for Toyota. I already removed a 'TOYOTA' badge that was above the 'XRS' and adjacent to the symbol. I was considering removing the 'XRS' and 'Matrix' too. The symbol won't be so easy because there'll be 2 holes left behind and I'll need body work to 'shave' it.
The brake/driving lights aren't affected because those light up the top portion of the tailight.
The painted portion (the bottom half) has the turn signals. They light up pretty much the same and the bulbs that are in there are amber. I thought I'd have to change the amber bulbs to some clear ones to get them 'redder' but it's red enough and you can't even notice there's amber bulbs in there.
