Why don't you run out to some dealerships and get some quotes?
I did some crazy homework researching. I'm definitely not gonna make it easy for you.
I'll tell you this though...one dealership quoted me for $32K and change "out the door"...I laughed in his face then laughed harder as I walked out.
Oh. Wait a minute...do you want an XRS or an RSX? They're totally different cars you know.

I paid out of the door with TT&L $21,000 I had to wait 3 days for me to get mine, that was about 1 month ago by now. They would not come down off the sticker price at all.
I build my own from Toyota.com and got MSRP $21.450 for what I want, so I fax the information to 2 of local shop and they want same price and they said it will take about week to get it in.
what NO DISCOUNT?
FULL MSRP? I never paid MSRP befor and I hope this will not be the begining of long life.
I want to offer them a responable price for the XRS, let me know thanks

whoa, i hope u don't speak the way u type, all broken up like that, no WONDER they tried to mark it up on u! hah! jk bro!
anyways, i shopped around Northern Cali & this is what i found.
XRS, 6disc, moonroof, floormats, $20,475
*basically if u get a XRS with the Nav. system AND moonroof, expect $21-22,500 i would call a fair price
I paid 18,900 my XRS 6 spd.. They also financed me at 6.64% as a first time buyer... I was realllllllly mean to them until they gave me the deal I wanted...
I paid $19,500 for my XRS less sales tax. All options except nav system & 17" wheels.
What is really goofy is you cant get a moon roof if you get the 17" wheels. Is that a catalog mistake?
Also heard that they stopped the auto trans on the XRS. probably couldnt handle 8k shifts.?
Matrix XRS on order, cosmic blue metallic. Take home price is 18865 w/ bazooka and 6 disc changer. I may get the 17's later on, heard that the ride is harsher with 17's though so I'm gonna try out the handling first with the 16's.
so basically if i pay over $22K for the XRS i want, i'm gettin burned. . i checked a few dealerships online & searched their inventory, common price for a XRS well-equipped but not loaded, $20,949.
Dealer invoice on a 6 speed XRS is a little less than 17000. Add the amount of your add ons onto that price and bargain from there.
Don't pay for the toyota guard protection group. Have you ever had the upholstery on one of your autos cleaned for 500? Also, shop around. Tell the dealer you're shopping around and give the dealer bogus prices say "1000" above dealer invoice. Walk away if they don't give you the price you're after. The first dealer I went to wanted 19500 for a basic xrs with no add ons. Asked for a quote online and got 18600 + tags and add ons.
I called one Toyota dealer near me and said, good luck even finding an XRS. XR's and base models are available, but XRS's are hot. He said he can order me an XRS but will take about a month from factory. On top of that, it will be another few months before delivery. 6 speeds are easier to have than autos. Unfortunately, almost everybody is paying MSRP for the Matrix.
