The american Matrixes and the Vibe are being produced at the Toyota plant in Fresno(I think). It's in Cali for sure.

OK everybody first of all thanks for your help. I'd like to thank Rick McCallum for spending the whole day with me today tooling up on the exhaust. I've been (and will be) rather general in giving facts on this because as with any new product we want to keep some details confidential until the product is fully released and tested. The reason for my post was for help in R+D, not to sell anybody anything. We did a preliminary setup today. It is definitely not what we want and will be re-done until it's perfect. We used a straight-though Hiper-style muffler with a 4-inch tip and sound restrictor (kind of like the one you see on Apexi N1 exhausts). Unlike the stock XR and base model system, we configured the muffler in a longitudinal (front-to-back) position. The rest of the pipe comes forward and bolts onto the factory flange just above and in front of the rear axle. So far the sound is really deep and not loud or offensive. We have not removed the restritor yet. The car is noticeably faster mid-range to top end. At high revs the car does not Bleat like the stock system does (or like every Honda out there). Acceleration and deceleration sounds ecxellent. Overall we are pleased with the performance and sound but the fitment needs to be altered if the system is going to last the 3-year warranty cycle. We will have more news soon. Thanks again for everybody's help and interest.

Myztyk> i know that the matrix and the vibe are designed 2gether in the state
but i'm 120% sure that the matrices are being produced at the plant in cambridge, along with corolla and solara.

Matrixtuner> sound like it's going well~ hope we'll b able to see the pix~

 I am the lucky one that got to meet alot of very cool car enthusiasts today and now my car sounds so sweeet! I do know the product will be built exceptionally well and is not too loud at all but does sound deep, especially right off idle. At crusing speed on the freeway it is just loud enough to hear it but not offensive at all.
The finish is the best I have ever seen on a muffler. I had my buddy listen to it just a bit ago, he said it sounds like a good big bore sport bike but much better, this is coming from a guy with many years of riding them and harleys as well.
Nice to know very high quality parts are being produced for us Matrix owners!!!!!

Turbo project is still in the works, waiting for the turbo to arrive so the fabrication of the manifold can start.

Ok everybody the exhaust prototype is complete and is now being jigged for production. Thanks again for Rick McCallum's assistance in design and testing of this system. We did some preliminary sound tests with a handheld meter that Rick uses for his audio work and the highest level recorded was 65 dB (with the restrictor in place). We plan to do more testing on an off-the-shelf model as soon as it is ready and I'll publish the results. We should have some dyno results as well. The toyota folks really liked the system and can't wait to offer it on new cars as well as in the parts department. I'll also publish the contact numbers for those of you that want to see it on a car or perhaps get one. If you are not in Southern California I will try to arrange for you to see it at your home dealer or even buy it direct. As other new products become available or we need some more help you'll hear about it here. Thanks!

This is one sweet sounding and great looking exhaust system! No big fat can hanging under your car, just a very classy looking, beautiful finished system that goes exceptionally well with the theme of the car. The sound is very sweet with no resonate peak at crusing speed, very low and powerfull sounding at lower RPM's while shifting up through the gears. Very nice when you back off the throttle as well.
I really hated to take it off the car, I mis the great sound and looks, will be standing in line bugging them for mine when ready!
I can tell you, this is a class act company and product line we have coming our way. This is not hype or BS, I have been around many years, seen alot of that stuff, this is the real deal here. I am ready and willing to work with them on any new products they need me for.
By the way, expect to see my car in major auto sound and performance mags, in a high profile booth at the next CES, the Sema show, etc. I am very serious about this car and only going to deal with high caliber products and companies.

Cambridge produces the Corolla Matrix (Its production name).
Fresno (Not a Toyota facility) produces the Vibe.
Both facilities produce the Corolla.
