Looking into buying one, need opinions

Well i have to sell my 2000 Mustang owned a Stang my whole life and i am gonna cry. It's very hard for Stangers to convert but i think it's time.

I am diggin the Matrix. But i am going into a commute situation and going about 200km's a day. Is it going to make sense to buy a Matrix, with regards to gas mileage. I will look at the Base Model with Options package B and i have to test drive one this week. But if gas and insurance isn't going to be an advantage with going with the Matrix i may keep the Stang.

Matrix owners/supports and words of wisdom??

I am pretty sure that insurance and gas cost will materially decrease compared to your Stang. I have the 2004 Auto XR with the B Package and I am loving it. However, I do regrete getting it in Auto! In other words, get stick!

I agree with arne. You should see a big drop in insurance. Why?
- going from a sportscar to a "economy" car
- 6 cylinder to 4

Consider asking your ins. co. for a quote. Just tell them your "thinking of" instead of "going to" buy one.

Gas is a no-brainer. Your wallet will be fatter compared to the Mustang. The 1ZZ-FE engine in the base/XR model sips gas on the highway.

As for the GF...who cares? That's what I said to my wife when I put my foot down and said we're getting the 6 speed.

Explain to the GF that you'll teach her how to drive the stick. Within a week, she'll be lovin' it! Tell her I said so!

Damn....I should've contacted you for some marriage advice before I bought the trix! I bow to you!
