Invoice/Selling price vs. MSRP

I'm from Calgary, Alberta and I'm looking at buying a Matrix (probably a base model, money is a factor). I'd like some feedback on prices. Is there room to bargain on these cars? What did you pay for your Matrix (Canadian)? Does anyone know a dealer invoice price for the Matrix or any extra promotions? I've heard that Toyota (in BC anyways) doesn't negotiate prices.

Let me know....

I bought my 05 XRS at the end of July, literally the last business day of the month. But the deal was set up 3 days earlier. I paid $350 over list price. Generally list is around 9% off MSRP. For the XRS, MSRP is $25600. List was $23578, according to my dealer, and seeing no one else came close to his price, who was I to argue. Freight is $1010 here in Ontario. We have GST at 7% plus Ontario sales tax at 8%! At least you don't have the 8% sales tax to factor in.

Good luck.

ps.....if you get a base and want to upgrade to alloys, I'll buy the steelies and hubcaps from you.

I bought my 2005 near the end of July - paid $1000 under the sticker price (USD$) for a base model. That plus the 2.9% loan rate made it a pretty good deal.
