My 00 Corolla is pushing 100k miles and still has the DRL enabled and the original Koito bulbs. Too many idiot drivers out there for me to do away with them.

I recently got the Toyota TSB for disable of the DRL for various models, If anyone wants it PM me with E-Mail address.

ok this is the best explanation and pics in order to disable DRL and Autolight do this:
Cut the wire on the relay module red/white pin #12, use elec. tape to cover the tips and you done

If you want to add a switch go ahead follow the instructions, If you dont care just cut the wire and your are done

CW,

In 2004, you posted "I recently got the Toyota TSB for disable of the DRL for various models, If anyone wants it PM me with E-Mail address."

If you still have these, could you email to Paintbrush365@yahoo.com?

Thanks,

Fred

I'm guessing you don't want to disconnect them now, huh? Or at least till you get the regular lights working? lol. Good luck with it! I thought daytime running lamps were an option for this car? And I know my insurance company gives me a discount for having them. If it is an option, find out how they install them or wire them. There has to be a better way than cutting a wire on a factory harness...OUCH!

I just realized this was an old post...back to haunt us. lol. Here's an idea...drive around with the parking brake on!!! No, really, There is a switch in the parking brake that activates the daytime lamps. Go through the wiring diagram and find this switch and go from there.. No cutting harnesses or anything. Just pull the switch and wire in a toggle to that!
