Smile Compartment under shifter

With a little creative engineering I have found a way to keep it closed! I cut a piece of packing foam. Took the door off & wedged it under the console. Put the door back on & it has stayed closed for days! I hated that thing staying open.

nope, it's been doing this since day 1. From what I've read others are having the same problem.

Nope no pics but I just used a piece of this pink packing foam (kinda firm) probably about 1/4" thick. I can measure it when my office lets me out of this cage. I imagine cardboard would work but it would probably shift around. The foam shifted after several days. I just pulled it forward & it stopped dropping open again.

Toyota knows about this and they will fix it under warranty
that's what I did and numerous others as well. I will not settle for any-sub quality stuff from Toyota
