Ecu flashing

Has anybody heard about getting your factory Ecu flashed w/ whatever apps. u need. I saw it on this show called Tuner Transformation, and i'm not sure where this show is bases at. There's this port beneath the steering column and u just plug it into that and work the mojo on the laptop. I was just curious as to where u can get this done at.

TT is made here in Toronto.
Sounds like what you're talking about is an OBD2 scanner.

Is that something that u can purchase? I'de rather have somebody do it but i don't know what kind of person to bring it to. I'm thinking of sending mine to TT just to see what they would do or i could be just denied i don't lose anything either way.

An OBD2 scanner is readily available around here at the local auto parts store.

Your car has to be chosen by TT. You can't just send them your car. Also, they make you sign a waiver because there's a chance that they may make your car illegal for the road (non street-legal).

Well if there's a chance that they do couldn't u some how take out that part which makes it illegal? I'm not looking to get it turned into an extreme racer, just tune some specs. a little more. But that OBD2 scanner is something that u have to do yourself?

by illegal, I think they are refering to smog or emissions stuff. Kinda like in California. You can't even wash your car without making it "illegal"...hehehe
