Coming off the manifold all the way to the resonator is great soon as it get's past that the size gets alot smaller and they start crimping the bends.

I just went ot a local muffler shop here in Fresno and he said the pipe size was 2 1/4 already. I'm either gonna keep the same set up w/ a diff. muffler or switch the exhaust to the passenger side and use a barrel type muffler. Has anyone got a custom exhaust done besides the bolt on. What was the process of the application?

What would be the effects if i were to get 2.5" piping?

W/ just your short ram? You'll lose power. Not enough back pressure.

Since the Matrix XRS has to cat. conv's. were both of them replaced w/ an after market or just left alone? The resonator will be taken off as well?

How useless would it be to have glass packs installed on an exhaust system? Is that just created for loudness then performance?

it is 2 1/4. when i had mine changed they cut the stock exhaust right at the inlet to the muffler, installed my flowmaster and then did custom piping out, same 2 1/4 out. that would be a good idea to reroute the exhaust to the pass side, theres that black box right there that gets in the way.

what kills power is the lack of exhaust velocity.

i'm gonna convert it to the passenger side. So it'll be like $230 for 2 1/4 pipe, take out the resonator and new muffler. How about the catalytic converter since theres two of them.

You can get rid of the 2nd Cat since there is no sensor in it or after.
Leave the first one alone.
My 2 cents.

I just might buy an aftermarket 'cause i don't know if they sell them. I'de like to get new headers at the same time but $$$$ is always a factor. I've got a 2nd child on the way so all my finiancials is going on my kids. But we're moving in w/ my parents for a few months and save and pay off bills. If i can convince the 'ol lady that should be the last big thing i get for my car. Maybe some electrical stuff and Unichip once i have all the mods that i want installed.
