Question Unichip follow-up

Does anybody the what the price was for the Unichip? I was wondering if anybody has done a follow up or know someone who got one installed w/ the outcome and progress? I was doin' a little check up on it to get a price but i couldn't find one. I guess i'll have to email that dude who's a dist. here in the states and get a what's up on it. Right off the bat though, what did everyone think of it at first? Will this product back itself up in the long run?

I just caught an earlier thread on this discussion but that was before i got my XRS. So i don't know if this will just be a wast of time and posts'.

Read about Unichip here.
http://www.matrixowners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18844

I guess you can contact Jack at Unichip for purchase.
There was a group buy and it was going for $675.
I got mine used for $499.
Try to find a used one, I think there are still ppl selling.

I have AEM CAI, TRD Quick Shifter, and Unichip and I ran a 15.141 @ 95.40mph in the 1/4 mile.
I ran a total of 8 runs and times were b/t 15.1 and 15.3.

Ran w/ OEM 16s and removed rear seats/interior/spare tire.
I know removing rear seats/interior is kinda 'cheating', but I did set out to get the best 1/4 mile time.
So far I haven't seen anyone w/ the same set up but w/o Unichip hit 15.1 yet.
So I would have to say that my Unichip works and I'm loving it.
I can land in lift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th, all day long!!

You mean the other car?
My friend's WRX w/ CAI, downpipe and exhaust. I was keeping up w/ him the whole time.
He would get me on the launch and I would play catch up the whole time.

I'm not sure, but there are dynos out there for CAI and stock exhaust and I forgot what #s it had.
It doesn't give you as much peak hp gain as much as torque gain down low (3-5k rpm).
There's hp and tq gain throughout the entire power band, ranging from 5-10lb ft of torque.

I installed int myself, it's plug and play PnP, just plug the existing plugs from the ECU into Unichip and plug the plugs that come w/ the Unichip harness into the ECU.

Took about 1/2 hr to install, it's just hard to work down there, below the glove compartment.

Best to get the Unichip after all your engine mods. (intake, exhaust, etc.)
You'll also have to see if they have a mapping for just your short ram. Cuz if you put it in now and decide to get an exhaust installed, you'll have to get the chip reflashed/retuned. Then say you want to install a header 6mths later, you'll have to get it reflashed/retuned again. Better to save yourself the trouble and put all your crap together then drop in the Unichip.
