Is it good to add door guards for matrix?

My new XR 05 only one month old, but already three times hit the side door form some stupid people when opening their car's door at parking log, since Matrix doesn't have side doors guards, I'm thinking to add one, does anybody do this already? Should I choose those stick on style instead of screw on? Does it peel off the paint when take it off?
