Question brake issues

Hi, I have a 2003 XR wtih ABS. I bought it used with about 8K miles. I've taken it into the dealer several times for "mushy" or "sinking" brakes. It seems that you have to press the pedal almost to the floor before it will stop. I can't seem to find anyone else with this same type of problem in the Matrix. Could it be that I'm just not used to ABS? Every time I take it in to the dealer they tell me they can't replicate it, but this last time they did say they needed to be adjusted. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may just have air in the brake lines. Get the brakes bled and new brake fluid put in. It should cure your mushy brake problem.

If it's been bled of air and it still does it I would suspect a faulty master cylinder.

Hi,

My 03 Matrix XR had leaks in the master cylinder and also in the line going into the
abs modulator (left front in the UH compartment with 4 lines going in...). Please check
these places for leaks...
