Canada Neo iOn

Hi,

My very first post. I've joined with the hope that someone has had experience with the "Neo iON" and their Matrix.

Here's a bit about the iON from www.neocaraudio.com.

************************************************** ******
The Neo iON provides direct connection to most factory and aftermarket car stereos. When connected your car stereo buttons will control the iPod, the iPod battery will charge, and the sound will play from your car stereo speakers. This is the best iPod Car Kit available on the market.

Features

Compatible with iPod 3rd Generation, 4th Generation, and iPod Mini.

Works with most vehicles – plugs directly into the CD changer port.

The adapter includes a 11.5' (3.5M) cable that plugs directly into the iPod. The other side of this cable plugs into the CD changer port on the back of the car stereo – there is no FM modulation.

Once the cable is plugged in your car will charge and power your iPod, as well as control it (Next/Previous track, FF/RW) using your car stereos existing buttons (steering wheel controls if you have them***************************************

The 2005 Toyota Matrix is on the compatibility list but requires an extra harness available from Toyota for about $20. The unit itself is about USD 180.

All reviews I've read on third party sites are positive but can't find a review specifically for the Matrix.

Has any Matrix owners on this site installed one and if so, how is it working for them?

Thanks!

I heard they are coming out with something that will work with most aftermarket decks in the near future - good stuff…

I think Alpine is the only one out there right now that's being iPod friendly...

Pioneer makes an adapter now as well. I hope www.mp3yourcar.com makes one that will work with most aftermarket decks soon - that would be pretty cool.

A lot of decent deck makers are finally catching on.

I think the Alpine unit was a flop...

The Neo Ion for my 2005 Corolla S does not work worth 2 cents. I went through 2 separate ones and neither function correctly.

My main issue was it not wanting to toggle through songs on the Ipod through my contols on the stock headunit. It would work for a while, I would remove the Ipod from the car, plug it back in and it would stop functioning again.

Anyone know of a unit that works?
