OK- one for the people who actually *own* or *work on* Matrices:

I've got a base Matrix & I absolutely love it, except for a persistent squeak/rattle in the dash. It's coming from the clear plastic covering the tach/speedo/gauges... I can make it go away by pushing against the plastic. It happens in response to road vibration- smooth roads damp it out.

Anybody else have this problem?

Given that I've got less than 1500 miles on the car, should I:
1. Wait till the first oil change (I work a couple blocks from the dealer) and complain?
2. Go back to the dealer *now* and complain?
3. Shove a bunch of rubber shims into the dash and not tell the dealer?

I found a similar problem in the Pontiac Vibe forum- I guess it's off to the dealer with me!

J,

HEres the deal chief. Theres a tab on the bottom of the dash pod insert. What youre gonna need to do is tilt the steering wheel all the way down, and pull the pods straight out. They snap in. Then All I did to stop it was push it pback in, be sure to get the trip button through. If that doestn stop it, put some rubber around the tab on the pods at the bottom. Long post short process. Hope this helps

Thanks, Slik-

I'll give the pull-and-push on the pods method a try. I always was a do-it-yerself kind of person.
