Car alarm system - any recommendations?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced alarm system. Any suggestions other than Toyota's VIP? Is it "easy" to install the system myself?

2ZZ ~ did your matrix come with it factory or did they install it at the dealer?? also what system do you have???

the one I got, I think is kinda malfunctioning! it beeps for no reason when I leave it in the sun or on hot days! anyone else have this problem??

its a karr system installed by the dealership. actually i do have one complaint. i cant change the horn honk to a beep. other than that works fine.

If you really want to change it you can do some rewiring, let me know and I will look up the info for you. Just cut the output from the alarm to the horn, add a relay, fuse for the alarm siren, etc, find a siren you like the sound of, hook it up, may take a latching relay though.

Karr system?? I'm dunno much about alarms... but my is so premier crap.... it beeps for no reason all the time, especialyl when I leave it in the sun!

karr is the brand. it has a starter kill and two stage anti shock. code jumping technology and some other crap.
