Tach. ?

Would it be necessary or essential to get a aftermarket tachometer if your car already comes w/ one? How about just a shift light or is that just for sucka's who can't shift? I know to accentuate your mods your might need certian guages to monitor them, what are some good ones to get? I have a ? about this also, i'm sure you's seen them before, worth getting?

You really don't need many gauges if you're not boosting or you haven't done a lot of performance mods. I personally needed a tach since mine didn't come with one. Right now I have a voltmeter that I installed because of my sound system... I have a vac gauge that I might put in, which can be used to tune a little bit. Mostly gauges will only help you if you have something wrong, such as hot oil, hot engine, and other stuff like that.

Besides useage, gauges look really cool.

That's not going to give the same info that gauges would give, but those are still decent IMO. That looks like it works the same as a G-Tech. Basically it measures speed, hp, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, 0-60 time, 60-0 braking time, and other stuff like that. Gauges are more info on what your engines doing. Such as running hot, cold, leaking, etc.

yeah i know what the gauges are for but for me i like to have all the info. at my finger tips. The Accelerometer was just a sample i got from HCI magazine but i'de like to get a couple of gauges and the Accelerometer just to keep stats. and monitor everything.
