CAI

ok.... i'm thinking of putting CAI on my XR
noticed that injen has CAI for XR, and claiming that it adds 10 hp
AEM has CAI for XRS.. but i don't find one for XR
and ppl were arguing weather it really adds performance to the car..
so... i would like to know.. if anyone actually has one on his/her car, and actually did a dyno test
i think mistamatrix has CAI on his project??

also... someone told me that CAI will have more affect on NA car..
but i'm thinking about adding supercharger in the future (if there's one).. so.. would it mean that i'm wasting my $$ to put the CAI on if i'm going to have a supercharger in the future?

not me personally

Several people on matrixowners.com and matrixvibe.net have the Injen intake and love it.

If you look at the dyno's for both, the AEM offers better peek HP, however it suffers a horrible torque loss at low RPM. The Injen is just a shade short of the AEM for peek HP, however it has no torque loss. I would get the Injen.

After I get my TRD springs, the Injen is next on the list for me. I have a friend who took me to one of his Eclipse meets (mitsu guy) and his small group of 5-6 cars ALL had the Injen intake, everyone swore by that brand.

The dyno proves the results, unlike some companies (stillen) who claim HP but don't back it up.

Just my $.02 worth.

The only project I'm working on is "How to wait for your XRS without getting impatient."

Actually the aem will give you more low end and the Injen slightly higher at top. Personely the dyno chart's for both are so close i think it's hard to even notice. I run the aem on the celica gts and there is a big differnce in power and it makes a nice noise when lift kicks in. Most of the guy's at celispeed swear by Injen but im happy with aem. If your waiting for a S\C get the cai now because it may be a while before its out and if you do make the purchase you can always sell the cai to a buddy.

Oh dont listen to anybody that say's there is no noticable performance with a CAI. You will probably see more improvement there then you will with a catbak exhaust.

Uh. The 'project' is going well and I as long as I don't think about it, the project will succeed.
