03 XRS stocker header port

Well hopefuly by today or tomorrow the stock header should be ported . I'm just waiting, patiently waiting. I have to wait for the gaskets too so if the header is done today it would be nice to throw it back on but...no. I was also think of putting a resonator back on the exhaust, it has a inner spiral design, is that good? It'll cut down on the loudness if i take the silencer off the muffler, hopefully. Is there any type of outer coating i can put on the header since i have it off?

Yeah, well i went down there saturday buy Ty wasn't there, so i left it w/ one of the guys that works there. I called yesterday around 9am Ty wasn't there yet the dude said he'll get a hold of me, nothing. I'm going to call today because my gaskets should be in at Bingham Toyota to pick up. I'm getting kinda antsy about everything since my car is just sitting useless in the garage right now. Well i'm doin' some body work on the kit. I might trade some guy on MO.com his stock XRS front bumper cover for my R34 bumper cover. I'm sure they don't have nearly enough pot holes in New York as they do here. I had to do some fiberglass work on it before i send it, i'm gonna miss it but there's another couple of kits in the process for the matrix.

What I would do (if I were you) is remove the resonator and try it out. If it's too loud, put the silencer in the tip. Me personally? I would leave the exhaust alone. We all know that thes cars lack in the torque department and opening up the exhaust will make it even worse. Or better yet...buy an exhaust control valve and run it off the same vacuum that controls the airbox flap. That way, you have the needed torque on low end and when the car gets up to 4000 rpm, the airbox valve will open and the exhaust will open at the same time. I don't know if the '03 has that flap and we already know you have the CAI.

Maybe even run an "open exhaust " from the contrl valve back...but being from cali, you may have hell getting it through emissions, and the ECU will probably throw codes right and left.

It's pretty loud w/ out the silencer so i may get the aftermarket res.. I can't know if the torque end has dropped or what unless i get a read out of it as proof. Was the tq. at 130 or 150 on the '03 XRS's?
