Question Noob: hi everyone! moving drl...

hi everyone!

New guy here and just wanna say that i've reading your forum for a while and decide to join you all! i've done some mods to my 05' Matrix...minor really, but i want to know if anyone has ever try moving the DRL from the low beams to the high beams? I see the other toyota cars and suv with DRL that has high beam but somehow the Corolla and Matrix are stuck with the low beams DRL. This makes it harder to fit an aftermarket HID system. Thanks everyone!

You could always just get rid of the DRL completely.

Actually, suprisingly I like DRL, but would rather have it on the high beam instead. Does anyone know how to modify this?

USA Matrix Drl

DRL IS TRICKY BUT IF YOU ARE GOOD WITH YOUR WIRING THAN YOU COULD TRICK THE SYSTEM. SINCE THE PLUG IS DIFFERENT FOR HIGH AND LOW YOU COULD SWITCH THE WIRES OUT. SO WHEN YOU WANT YOUR REGULAR LIGHTS ON ALL YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO IS FLICK YOUR STALK ON THE COLUMN KINDA LIKE PUTTING ON YOUR HIGH BEAMS BUT IN REVERSE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU. i DID IT AND IT SEEMS TO WORK FINE.
THANKS

USA Hmmm....

But.... if I switch the plugs and set the beam to high beam then wouldn't both lights be on (high and lows) and plus the fog lights be off...
