haha~
just started a new job yesterday
and guess what??
this new company i'm working for makes the seats for matrix/corolla
i actually did a few processes today
so if any of you have concerns about the chairs, maybe i can help?
by the way... for on the matrix passenger seat, the seat belt sensor is located on the inner region of the cushion
there's a wire connector that goes under the chair
so.. if u don't like the annoying passenger seat belt alert.. u know what do~ :P
I hate that damn sensor. There should be like a 50lb min. on it. I had my pouch/fanny pack on the seat and it would go off.
What I also hate about the seat is that when you pull up the recline lever, the seatback doesn't snap forward very easily. If I have it reclined too far back and want to adjust it so that it's upright, I have to use my other hand to pull the seatback to move it upright. Ugh. It should snap forward as soon as you tug on the lever.
well... we'r the manufacturer~
the design is done at the toyota design centre, and thru the corporate~
we can't do any modification.. toyota even specify the supplier to go to...
but.. u'r rite~ those r some problems with the seats~
well.. i told my boss already~ and we also notice that the back plastic cover r made of cheap sh!t material..
will try to do some improvement on that~
Deep, don't do it. Your head will hit the roof. There's a lot of bulk in the 'seat' that makes it sit high. Have you sat in a Matrix? It's really 'minivan' like.

i agree, the matrix seats are too high for the celi
but if u really want it.. i can ask for you..
the company is in milton, west of mississauga
mm... i don't think you can buy it directly from here..
the set of seats r sold to toyota in cambridge for about $1500
some guy told me u can get the damaged ones for free tho...
How and where? I'll make up some brackets and swap all 4 of my stock seats for some Solara buckets, haha. If you can get ahold of some I'll make it worth your while.

so lets say if a seat had a damage sensor they'll throw it out? screw that imma head to your place and steal me some seats. maybe geet Deep to hook me up with some legs like chairs. i can see it now sitting at the dinner table with matrix seats.

well... that's what one of the engineer told me~
no... for sure they won't scrap the seat for a sensor... -____-
sensors r so easy to replace..
well... i can TRY.. but don't keep ur hope up
it's it's so easy to get one, everyone in the plant will have a spare seat at home.. but apparently that's not the case
i THINK they probably scrap it if the wooden wires are miss placed or someone hogring over the cover..
i'll check it out and let u guys know..
by the way.. the plant is in milton, west of mississauga
and there's no way i'll carry the seat all the way to toronto
hay you can make a buisness out of this. just go repair the minor or easy seats. thn resell them to everyone in TN who go cigerette hole in there seats.
