Required maintenance light??

can somebody tell me how to reset the requied maintenance for the matrix xr? i already did the oil change and the light still on. actually this is my second time to have an oil change. i did 2500 then now it's 5000 the light show. thanks

I can't remember it off the top of my head, but the instructions are in the manual that comes with the car. Just look in the section where all the instrument gauges are shown. You do something like pushing and holding the odometer button...I dunno.

Yeah, I do remember that the instructions were in the manual. We had that same problem pop up. I know you reset it in the way that you turn the key in the ignition while holding down the odometer button. The directions were a little hard to find, but I think it's under the section for do-it-yourselfers for repair.

USA Instructions to turn off "Maintenance Req Light"

1. Turn the ignition key to the "ACC" or "LOCK" position with the odomater reading shown. (not trip A or trip B)
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob.

You will see your "mileage" say "000000" and then some dashes and then the light will go off.

Finally I got that freakin' light off! YEAH
