Litte confused here: my 2006 trixer has a sensor on the dash for the lights to come on, but at night it takes a little while for the lights to come on. Does anyone know what I am taking?

It's kind of screwy how it takes 20 seconds or so. It doesnt really follow a pattern. I just flip the lights on now and in about a minute or two I switch them off after. Just something that is weird, is there anyway to change it?

It shouldn't take that long and it should be consistent. Check it using a watch first rather than estimating. Maybe you are being a little impatient and it just seems that long. It's a good idea to wait a few seconds after starting to get good oil pressure throughout the system before putting the engine under load anyway. Get in and start the engine first. Then put on the seat belt and check mirror adjustment. The lights shouln't take more than a few seconds beyond that.

you can always disable the day time runnin lights. you think 20 secs is a long time? you must be real impatient. like i said before though, thats normal for the lights to turn on a little while after the parking brake is released.

The delay is probably there so that they won't come on during the day when you go under an overpass or tunnel.

Is there no manaul light switch?

There is a manual switch, it's just I was used to my old car having the lights come on immediately when I turned on the car at night. It's not that the Matrix takes a super long time, but I was wondering if it was normal, or if it was a problem. Evidently it is normal, no big deal.

Man, there is a new Kia (I think) that has no delay at all. Whenever one is behind me and we go under bridges/short tunnels during the day its like they are flashing their lights at you they are coming on and off so much. I appreciate the short delay. I'd say its about 15-20 seconds in the girlfriend's Camry with the light sensor.
