I'm don't usually flame people, but since you joined yesterday and you are posting this, I'm going to call you a troll. Don't go posting your negative propoganda here.
Most people know about the issues with the Tundra right now, but the problems that are occuring are less than 1% (something like .65% if I remember correctly) of the total production. Cam shaft failure has been identified and the engines produced now have the new part installed. If a camshaft does break on the new 5.7, the person gets a new engine and a 100k warranty. Transmission failure, as far as I know, is still unsolved. Since its new, it's bound to have problems; GM's 6-speed 6L80 tranny is having problems too.
First model year problems are to be expected. Believe me, when my parents worked for GM's Qaulity division, they were flying all over the place to solve problems. Most were solved in factory without the consumer knowing, while other leaked out into the market place. Toyota isn't perfect, but I bet you they are trying a helluva lot harder than the Big 2/3 right now. But depsite the problems, my Tundra is operating smoothly. There are a few things that bother me, but nothing that will effect the operation of the vehicle.
