That brought back pain full memories from a few years ago. I just bought my new Lexus.
Went to a local "upscale" mall. Parked in a the garage. Came back a couple of hour later,
and I discovered somebody had decided to key the entire right side of my car. As I stoood
there in disbelief, I noticed all the cars around me suffered the same thing. Mall security
came by and then police was called in. A total of 20 or 25 cars got the same key treatment
that night. They didn't just key the car's paint, the scratchs exposed the bare metal under
the paint.....
The estimate for my Lexus came to almost $2000. I'm guessing it's about
the same for the other victims. So, $2000 times 25 cars equals $50,000.........
I believe the incident also made it on the local news because TV news people
came out later... I didn't stick around long enough... too depressed at that time.
The perps was never caught. The mall security camera didn't catch them either... Must be
a group of punks who had nothing better to do.
