It's too much of a hassle, and it only takes me thirty minutes of driving to have the computer set to the way I want it to drive.

Its not just going slow on the highway its keeping ur rpms below 2500 on average. I dono if thats possible for u i4 guys.

also, dont warm up ur car too long in the morning, a minute should be good enough, and dont let ur car idle while waiting for a friend or something, if u know ur gonna be there for more than 4-5 mins, turn the car off.

and all the usual stuff like check ur tires, run some injector cleaner, keep up with maintenance.

Back when my commute was 84 miles round trip, I slowed down to 55 MPH to save gas. I was getting roughly 43 MPG, that's a 13 MPG gain just by slowing down from 75 MPH to 55 MPH. That's also on 17 inch rims with 225/45/17 tires, if I put the stocks back on I'm almost positive I could crack 50 MPG.

I have an Automatic by the way.

haha. i do that sake.. keeping the shifts under 2 grand.. they all fly by me and then they cruise at a steady 40-45 mph..

i agree. high way is much harder for me.. unless its late evening or night time driving.. going 65 mpg hit the cruise and just chill with my rockstar and jamming to the beats..

i found that if i go about 42-44 mph on my camey, the rpm is about 1400-1500 rpms... what a sweet spot..

I only have a five mile commute each way. When and if gas reaches about $10- a gal. that might slow me down. Until then its pedal to the metal!

Hey, not sure where in braintree you live but how are the roads with the mr2 since half the damn highway is dug up and roads around here are pretty bad in general I know my suspension is taking a beating right now and coil overs are coming in, wondering what it's like for a small car

Dude, once gas prices reach over $10, I'm taking the bike to work.
