V6 or V4? I can't get more then 23mpg on my 6 if my life depended on it.
26mpg isn't possible with our 4.0 v6's with any configuration unless you add a couple of gallons of gas "mid-tank" and then forget about it as you're calculating your mileage by hand calculator when you are refilling your tank to full.
the OP must have an I4 engine with manual tranny.

I also have never seen better then 23 on my dc lb v6 and usually average about 18 mpg with combo driving
17-18 was what I was getting with mix driving but once gas hit $5.10 in my area I learned not to gas it when its not needed; I'm getting about 20-21 now.

The OP did say 5-speed so it's an I4.
But I'm sure I could easily get 26mpg with a V6, i got 37.3 and 37.2 on my last 2 tanks, 30 should be doable with the V6.
We are still at $3.99 or less in the Colorado front range.

maybe in colorado in that thin air... but not at sea level my friend where the OP is from. you can't drive any slower, lighter footed than I do and I can't touch 26mpg.
I got regular for $3.95 today!!! cheap, cheap, cheap.....

Yeah I forget, you air sucks, from a fuel economy standpoint that is. I dream of driving my Challenger Convertible in dense air like your's.

I was getting 16mpg with my '06 double cab and 18-19 on the highway. I put new plugs in my V6 and I'm now getting 17-17.5 in the city and 20+ on the highway. I live in PA where we have hills and mountains, I think that is all that I'm going to get.
$5.10!!!!!!! that sucks, gotta love CA....I paid $3.99 today. I have no beach, but at least I can afford to drive to one (barely) if I choose.... LOL
