Question 13mpg in 92 camry

Does this sound right? 13.07mpg(15% highway 85%city). 27% of the time i was being conservative and 40% aggressive(flooring the car, going uphill alot, 80 on the hwy) 33% was regular driving characteristics. Another factor may be the tires. The tires are all different ones and all their tread conditions vary (one new tire,2 poor ones and one REALLY BAD ONE). The new tire is in the rear, the worst tire is on the front passenger side. The Psi was around 26 for all except for the really worn out tire which was 43psi. I also have a poor bumper( only top part is intact; bottom is missing or dangling in pieces) I also have a big dent on driver side fender. So friends, is 13mpg average plausible? the car has 152k miles on it.

Sounds about right to me. Low tire pressure, aggressive driving, and city driving at that. I get an average of 22 MPG in the city with my Avalon, but that's with tires at 35 PSI, easy-going driving, and coasting as much as possible up to the lights. No reason you couldn't get at least 18 and maybe 20+ with better driving habits and performance tweaks.

Thumbs up

Thanks TrailDust, i intend to do what you said. I'll accelerate like an old lady and synchronize my coasting with red lights ahead. I can't wait to get new tires!

I dunno man. When I had my stock camry I was getting 20mpg minimum and that was beating on it all the time.

ya it could be off, but i discovered i have a leaky gasket seal. i'm not sure if that effects performance. I just got a full tank, so i'm starting a fresh data record which will be more precise than the one right right now,
