I have a 2009 Camry LE with about 5,000 miles on it. I have been reading on here about fuel treatment like Techron Concentrate Plus. Should I put a bottle of this in my new car just as preventative maintenance every 3,000-5,000 miles? Is it going to hurt anything? I am kind of weary about pouring things besides fuel in my gas tank, but want the added benefits and the potential dodging of future problems.

I wouldn't.. I think the manual says not to do that. My salesman told me not to add anything or use premium gas. The only advice from a salesman I've ever taken to heart. :-) I've got 65k on mine and it still runs perfect. All I have ever put in the thing is regular.

i know this has been discussed before but since this thread is about gas im gonna ask. there really is no performance gain in running 93 octane fuel in the new v6's compared to 87 grade? even if u have "performance upgrades" such as exhaust modifications and an intake?

Additive is to clean fuel injectors! I see no problem with cleaning them every so often.
I would agree with you. I just put a fuel injection cleaner in my '09 Hybrid since I had it in storage for about 6 months and the gas/fuel stabilizer just sat stagnant for that time period.
The only fuel additives i have ever used is Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner and it works great as far as i know, i usually add a bottle after every oil change, and i run premium cheveron with techron for my i4 camry.
If you need to use additives, I'd go with the Techron because they invented the ashless dispersant that doesn't leave deposits after burning.
There is no need to use anything other than regular gas in these engines. Read this:
"I personally use regular even though my owner's manual says you'll get better performance with premium," says Lewis Gibbs, consulting engineer and 45-year veteran at Chevron oil company. He's chairman of Technical Committee 7 on Fuels, part of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Fuels & Lubricants Council. Gibbs knows gas.
"My wife runs midgrade (89 octane) in her car, and it's a turbocharged engine" meant for 91-octane premium, he says.

work part time some days at a gas station. i know few people who drove regular all their lives and when i told them to try 93 they saw a big difference and haven't looked back. personally i always put in 93. everyone says they feel more power and some say it uses less gas. u get what u paid for. plus 93 has additives(atleast at sunoco) for cleaning injectors etc..
I filled up a whole gas tank by mistake once with 87 and it ran like shit. I always use 93. It's only like a 3-4 dollar difference on a full tank of gas, so why not. I use the injector cleaner once in a while. 93 octane just burns better that's all, for our cars there is no performance gain really. Go to 104 (racing fuel) and than you'll notice a difference, but it's like 7$ a gallon.
