Ive never tried that but im interested to see if it truly works. Id also like to know the negative side effects or using that. I wonder if its corrosive to fuel lines or anything?

Per wikipedia:

Domestic and other niche uses

Acetone is often the primary component in cleaning agents such as nail polish remover. Ethyl acetate, another organic solvent, is sometimes used as well. Acetone is a component of superglue remover and it easily removes residues from glass and porcelain.

It can be used as an artistic agent; when rubbed on the back of a laser print or photocopy placed face-down on another surface and burnished firmly, the toner of the image transfers to the destination surface.

Some automotive enthusiasts add acetone at around 1 part in 500 to their fuel, following claims of improvement in fuel economy and engine life.[9] Systematic testing has determined that acetone has no measurable effect on fuel economy or may in fact reduce engine life by adversely affecting fuel system parts.[10][11] The effect of acetone on fuel economy was addressed on the popular American TV show MythBusters in 2006, in which they observed a decrease on fuel economy.[12]

myth busters used waaaay too much acetone! the proper dosage is between 2 and 3 fl. oz. per 10 gallons of fuel. unfortunately, alcohol in gas nearly kills the benefits of acetone. just try to get gas without alcohol...

I piss in my gas tank 1 part per 500 parts gasoline. There are molecules in your urine that help gas mileage. Mine doubled, but some people tripled gas mileage using this technique.

Not for me! Saw the post here about 3 weeks-1 month ago, heres the skinny. I researched it before i added acetone to my fuel for better MPG's about 70% good reviews and the other 30% were either no change/worse MPG or they were against it. On my 03' Dbl cab 3.4 I had gotten an average of 17 MPG .I decided to try the 3oz. of acetone per 10 gal. of fuel..after 4 fill ups..the average was a wopping 15.2 MPG.. The engine was at its best as far as tune ups and I even changed my fuel filter..Well back to regular 90% gas for me..oh the other 10 % is this (up to 10% ethanol blend crap) that they add. Oh well Costco and Sam's are still the cheapest for gas @ $4.26 per gal..the highest here is around $4.79..like they say..nothing beats living in paradise...Hawaii (heh)
