think the sport is still at its infancy here in North America.
i mean it's only been 3 or 4 years since ppl ahve been running cars that look like the rally cars we are used to seeing and the organisation of events could still be better. I still think the events should allow recce runs just so the crews can make pacenotes not to know the track, but heck for safety reasons. driving at the speeds they do 10 feet from a cliff isn't exactly safe if you dont' have notes IMO.
as far as skillz goes, we are still light years behind the europeans. forgot which rally it was but when Higgins (i think that's the guy's name.. British driver) came over to run a SCCA event last year he completely dominated the event i think. WAsn't sure what car he was running, but i think it was a gp. N.
hopefully in 5 or 7 years, we'll have a American or Canadian driver on the big stage.
