I'm not quite familiar with 2SE, but I will just throw in some question (idea?) to see if it help:

Did you switch the ignition system as well or you still using the old ignition system from the 4AC (Assume yours is a 1984 Corolla, not 1984 Camry)?

The 4AC originally come with two vacuum switch, temperature switch and a oxygen sensor with the emission control computer, did you swap them when you swap your 4AC to 2SE as well?
